KNOWN PROBLEMS IN THE NES-Watch AREA
Car burglaries are on the rise in NES. Five in May. Please keep an eye out and call the police when you see something suspicious. Three young males have been seen looking into cars in NES and C.A.R.R. One of our neighbors called but the police missed them. June 2009
2323 Huffman - June-2009 Suspected drug house - It has been reported to our CSO.
Shooting at a home near Tacoma and Yonge - Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on labor day. Because they are investigating, little information can be released. We do know that two victims were shot while visiting the home. The landlord has been contacted by the police and she was already in the process of evicting the tenants when the shooting occurred. What is of concern here folks is that no neighbors called the police on this home regarding suspicious activities: two pit bulls, cars coming and going, and neighborhood standard issues. Alderman Timm had called on the neighborhood standard issues many times. No one ever called the police to let them know this was a suspected drug house. The police are not psychic. We have to call them. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...it's a duck. As of June 2009 this is still a cold case.
2312 N. Church - 1/16/2008 Kelly Ronan and Tony Anacona are squatters in that building. They have been scamming our neighborhood for a long time. Kelly will ask to trim bushes or shovel snow, asks to come into your home and will steal from you. She recently stole money from 2 residents in NES. Kelly has a rap sheet of 49 incidents including aggravated battery. She was arrested by the police on another charge and released the next day. She was never charged for stealing from our two residents nor arrested for the drugs found in the apartment. The building is owned by a Limited Liability Corp and a lawyer is the agent for the "owner". The taxes on the property were paid by Holmstrom and Kennedy (via on-line check). Aaron Brooks at Holmstrom and Kennedy (815-962-7071) is listed as the Owner's Agent for the 2312 N. Church St. property. The actual owners are 5 K Investments. If anyone has any information on this investment group we would appreciate it. Letters have been written and phone calls have been made. Phil Nicolosi, our States Attorney has been contacted to see if his office can do anything. According to Matt Gibbons and Sgt. Welsh, the "landlord" has stated that an eviction notice was served January 22, 2008. NES-Watch will continue to follow up. A message was left for Aaron Brooks agent for 5K Investments on 2-25-2008. He called back 2-27-2008. He said he has never heard from the police. He is going to contact the owners of the property and tell them to call NES-Watch. He is not aware of an eviction. 3-13-2008 Per Sgt Welsh, the landlord gave the tenants a 30 day notice and they have all moved out. NES-Watch is pursuing permission to post a mug shot of Kelly and Tony so if she works the neighborhood neighbors will know not to let her in. 4-18-2008 Kelly Ronan is in jail on a retail theft theft charge. She got 180 days. Charges were dropped on the drug paraphernalia charges. We are safe from her for the 180 days. August 26, 2008: Kelly Ronan is out of jail and has violated her parole. Phil Nicolosi's office and the police department are looking for Kelly. She will be arrested when found. I am working on getting a description of for those who do not know what she looks like. Kelly Ronan White Female 5'0" 150 lbs with a rose tattoo on her neck. Please call the police when you see her. The State's Attorney's office and the police believe she has violated her parole. As of June 2009 Kelly is still wanted.
"SPOTTERS" have been seen on Bruner and Auburn. Spotters are bad guy look outs who report back to the drug dealers if there are police coming. They are carrying walkie-talkies to communicate with each other. If you see a suspicious person, call the police to check them out. June -2009
